2025 Arctic Circle Assembly

The Arctic Circle Assembly will be held in the Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre, Reykjavík, Iceland, on October 16 - 18.

The annual Arctic Circle Assembly brings together governments, organizations, corporations, universities, think tanks, environmental associations, Indigenous communities, citizens and others for a comprehensive and democratic Arctic dialogue. The Assembly is the largest gathering on Arctic affairs. It is a place for international engagement, cooperation, and celebration.

Call for Session Proposals

Governments, universities, companies, research institutions, organizations, associations and others will soon be invited to submit Session proposals for the Assembly.

2024 Polar Dialogue

The Polar Dialogue builds on the preceding Paris Polar Summit held at the initiative of the President of France, Emmanuel Macron in November 2023, and a series of discussions during consultative meetings with key stakeholders in Paris, Reykjavík, Monaco and Berlin.

The 2024 Polar Dialogue took place at the Arctic Circle Assembly and consisted of a series of sessions, consultative meetings, workshops and high-level Plenary Sessions taking place during the Assembly's three days.

Key focus is on science and research cooperation on the Arctic, Antarctic and the Himalaya - Third Pole region, as well as other ice covered areas of the world. High-level political leaders participated and committed to the Polar Dialogue for the purpose of enhancing a constructive dialogue with the scientific community.

2024 Business Forum

The Business Forum was launched at the 2024 Arctic Circle Assembly. The Forum builds on ten years of Arctic Circle's successful operations, during which many businesses and financial institutions have credited their participation as instrumental for development and success.

The Arctic Circle Business Forum participants benefit from a wide range of sessions and multiple networking events. A key element of the Forum will be to highlight sustainable business development and industry best practices.

The 2024 Business Forum took place at the Reykjavik EDITION on October 17-19.

The 2024 Frederik Paulsen Arctic Academic Action Awards

The Frederik Paulsen Arctic Academic Action Awards were awarded for the fourth time at the 2024 Arctic Circle Assembly. The winning initiative was the BIOSINK project, led by Alexander Tøsdal Tveit, Lisa Y. Stein, and Fang Qian. The project aims to capture methane directly from the air using bacteria that originate from Arctic environments.
